I’ve photographed dogs and cats, but this was a first for me! Hannah brought her HORSE to her 16th birthday session! Hannah and her sister ride in competitions, so after a long day of riding I met them out in Landrum at the most beautiful spot with a lot of open grass and a beautiful stone structure at sunset (does it get any better??).
You have to get creative when getting a horse’s attention! Thankfully, Hannah’s mom had a ringtone of a horse which got Trax’s attention long enough for me to snap a few before he went back to eating grass (Unfortunately, they don’t just look at you when you yell their name like a dog haha!).
Hannah has such a sweet, patient spirit, so we were able to get so much done quickly! I love the positive, fun personalities of this family (her mom, aunt, grandma, and sister came!), so it wasn’t hard to get some natural laughter coming from Hannah!
Working with this family again made me fall in love with my job all over, and I loved being a part of capturing Hannah’s 16th birthday!
And last but not least, one of my favorite bloopers! You never know what will happen when you’re trying to pose next to a horse!!
