I was so excited when Clay contacted me about his proposal to Mamie, and that he wanted me to photograph it!! We had a bit of rain throughout the evening so we moved the planned location under a bridge. I may have had to politely let some people know an engagement was about to happen, and they happily obliged (perks of living in the south)! I was sitting on a rock, nonchalantly pretending to do some stuff on my phone since there wasn’t really anywhere to hide and get a good angle, but Mamie and I had never met so she wasn’t too suspicious (well, maybe a little when she saw a red bag and rose on a table ;))! Clay’s roommate, Kyle, set up a speaker and when Clay gave the sign, Kyle (from behind a bush) played the song Clay had picked and then Clay got down on one knee.
I honestly felt the emotion from where I was, and was honored that I get to be a part of such an exciting step in their relationship! Mamie’s ring is so beautiful and unique, and they couldn’t have been more perfect on this rainy, yet romantic, Saturday evening.
