Jen & Tommy | South Carolina Wedding Photographer

Last year, Jen and Tommy met me for an engagement session in downtown Greenville. We had an amazing time, so soon after I messaged Jen about weddings, and they booked me! For the WESTIN in downtown Greenville!! I couldn’t have been more excited! I mean, that huge gorgeous building I always walk by- I get to shoot a wedding there! But there was more. Jen and Tommy are one of the sweetest, most patient couples I’ve had the privilege to work with, and Jen was an absolutely stunning bride!! 

They may look a bit familiar because a few weeks ago they were both in Kristina and Brian’s wedding (Tommy & Kristina are siblings!)!! So I felt that half of the people there I had already worked with, which really helps already knowing by name almost half of the wedding party, and definitely makes things more personal and fun!

When I photograph weddings, my job isn’t to just stand by with a camera like any other stranger could. When you’ve worked with a couple and communicated back and forth awhile, you build a relationship with them that helps you better capture not just the poses, but the emotions of the wedding day. You get to know the families, (especially when half of them are in two weddings you’ve photographed), and more importantly, you’ve made friends with the bride and groom. It’s definitely bittersweet finishing this wedding, and realizing I’ve finished working with an amazing couple I’ve communicated back and forth with for half a year! But I’m excited to see where God takes them, and still can’t believe I had the privilege to work with them!
